Annapurna Ganesh

Annapurna began her career as an early childhood educator with teaching preschool, kindergarten and first grade for 8 years. Annapurna has a B.A. degree from India in Psychology and a M.Ed in Elementary Education with emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University. After completing her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University she moved into the realm of higher education. In the field of higher education Annapurna served as an adjunct faculty at the College of Education, Arizona State University; as an assistant professor of Early Childhood Education at the College of Education, University of Houston. Currently,  she is a faculty member of the Education Studies Department and Director of the Early Care and Education Program at Mesa Community College.

Beth Alsen

Beth has sixteen years of classroom experience teaching at the secondary level.  She has taught ESL to English Language Learners (monolingual to advanced levels), first and second year Spanish, Honors U.S. history, Sheltered U.S. and world history.  In addition, Beth's professional experience also includes her work as an ELL Coordinator, ELL Department Chair, K-12 SEI trainer, as well as a content and curriculum developer across disciplines.  After leaving the secondary level when her SEI program was ranked 2nd in the state of Arizona, she moved on to teach future educators at Mesa Community College.  Currently, Beth teaches Introduction to English Language Learners and the Art of Storytelling.  She also works in the Center for Teaching and Learning on special projects focused on enhancing delivery and instruction for F2F, hybrid as well as online.

Karen Guerrero

Karen taught sixth grade in inner-city Phoenix and in Gilbert, Arizona for ten years prior to teaching at Mesa Community College. Karen has a B.A. degree from Ottawa University and a M.Ed in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. Karen specializes in teaching Science and Geography to English Language Learners and is actively involved with the dual language programs across the valley, one of which her two sons attend.  She also is a teacher consultant through the Arizona Geographic Alliance and was awarded the Distinguished Higher Education Teacher Award through the National Council of Geographic Education in 2010.   Currently,  she is a faculty member in the Education Studies Department at Mesa Community College.
