About Me

Welcome to my web site.  I am an economist especially interested in macroeconomics, international economics and economic history.  Topics of my research have included monetary policy rules for open economies, the behavior of the US-UK real exchange rate over different historical periods and the adjustment process for current account deficits.

I received my MA (2001) and PhD (2006) from the University of Virginia. I was born in Colorado and grew up here and in Michigan.  After graduating from Carleton College in Northfield Minnesota, I spent a couple of years in New York working for a financial trade publication.  I am a fan of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. I occasionally blog about economics at Twenty-Cent Paradigms and tweet @Bill_Craighead.
