Sousa Marches http://www.marineband.marines.mil/AudioResources/TheCompleteMarchesofJohnPhilipSousa.aspx Band "The President's Own" United States Marine Band is pleased to announce the release of its first volume of "The Complete Marches of John Philip Sousa." This multi-year recording project is the Marine Band's first comprehensive collection of Sousa's marches since the 1970s. Volume 1 contains his first 17 marches, covering the years 1873 to 1882 and is available for free download exclusively on the Marine Band website, along with scrolling videos and PDFs of the full scores that include historical and editorial notes about each piece.  
Choral Public Domain Library http://www.cpdl.org Choral The Choral Public Domain Library (CPDL), is an Internet-based free sheet music website which specializes in choral music. Begun in December 1998, CPDL is one of the world's largest free sheet music sites. The goal of CPDL is to host a large collection of music scores and other supporting files (such as midi or other sound files) which can be freely downloaded and used.

The selection covers a variety of music types including bel canto, minstrel, protest, plantation, and sentimental songs, as well as songs from vaudeville and tin pan alley. The collection is particularly strong in antebellum Southern music, confederate imprints, and Civil War songs and music.

Most of the music is written for voice and piano. The collection includes early pieces by Irving Berlin and Jerome Kern, as well as music by other popular composers and numerous arrangements of classical tunes by Bach, Beethoven, Schubert and other classical composers.

This collection spans the years from Lincoln's presidential campaign in 1859 through the centenary of Lincoln's birth in 1909. It was compiled by Alfred Stern (1881-1960), the greatest private collector of materials relating to the life and times of Abraham Lincoln.

Included are popular songs, piano music, sacred music and secular choral music, solo instrumental music, method books and instructional materials, and music for band and orchestra. This first release of the online collection consists of over 22,000 musical compositions registered for copyright during the years 1870 to 1879. 
Mutopia Project http://www.mutopiaproject.org/ Multiple The Mutopia Project offers sheet music editions of classical music for free download. These are based on editions in the public domain, and include works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Handel, Mozart, and many others. All of the music on Mutopia may be freely downloaded, printed, copied, distributed, modified, performed and recorded. Music is supplied as PDF files for easy printing on either A4 or US Letter paper. The LilyPond source files are also available, which allow you to make your own editions. Computer -generated audio previews of the music are available as MIDI files.
