The Chartered Institute of Linguists (IoL) celebrated it's centennial on April 15, 2010. Having been in existence for 100 years the Institute has a well established and far reaching reputation as a leader in the area of language acquisition and professional certification. It is currently under the patronage of HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
The Washington, DC examination center of the Chartered Institute of Linguists has helped numerous candidates earn the Institute of Linguists' Diploma in Translation (DipTrans). Our purpose is to assist potential candidates in the United States and Canada. The DipTrans serves not only as a valuable advanced degree in translation, but as an incomparable measuring stick for one's foreign language ability at a professional level.
In the coming year, we will also be offering a pilot program for the International Diploma in Bilingual Communication (IDBC).
As a fellow at the Chartered Institute of Linguists and the academic director of the Washington, DC examination center, Professor Basil Bessonoff has years of experience helping candidates prepare, apply, and sit for the exam.
