This Saturday, February 21, the Wayne State University American Chemical Society Student Affiliates (Chemistry Club) is hosting its second annual "For the Love of Chemistry Symposium". Last year, it was attend by 110 people including 5 universities. This year we expect 6 universities to participate. The morning will have career talks highlighting different career options for chemistry graduates. This year's career talks will cover academia, patent law, M.D.-PhD career paths, and biotechnology. This event is geared to science undergraduates, but is open to all. All chemistry faculty are invited. The keynote speaker, Dr. Ariel Fenster, will present "the Chemistry of Love". After lunch will have a chemistry demonstration competition between the universities. There is no fee to attend and breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. We ask that any interested students or faculty RSVP to wsuacs@chem.wayne.edu with the number of attendees as soon as possible. A list of event and some pictures from last year are below.
