Cook a Local Turkey
This Thanksgiving

              by Erica Schueller

Have you
thought much
about where your Thanksgiving dinner
will come from?

This year, consider purchasing a locally raised turkey for your meal centerpiece.

Keeping sustainability in mind, there are three very good reasons to purchase a locally raised turkey:

   1. You know exactly where the bird comes from
   2. It’s raised naturally outdoors
   3. The purchase supports the local economy

“Locally raised turkeys basically go from the pasture to oven. That’s the shortest distance you’d get out of any turkey,” explains Peter Bakke, owner of Field to Fork Farms in Waukesha. Click here to read full article.
