Watu Afrika strives to become a network of networks.

Our team is building the infrastructure to support a higher form of open and decentralized organization, built by assembling existing specialized small and medium size networks into a self-sustained super-network, capable of stimulating the economy and the well-being of the entire African continent.

  • Watu Afrika lab Tibi is trying to set up a laboratory to implement and test our ideas. This lab is a small rural community near Montreal, Canada, willing to experiment with open and collaborative initiatives in order to develop the local economy and to increase its resilience, by reducing the dependence of the village on the government and on other centralized institutions. This project was inspired by In Transition. Tibi is trying to take the central role in designing and building the infrastructure of communication, collaboration and coordination (CCC) for this socio-economical project.   • Diaspora Bank Business Plan Template David Smith proposed the first template for the Diaspora Bank Business Plan. "At this stage we need to discipline our thinking and select those things that we feel/know will work and at the same time hold in readiness the other ideas that have been put forward that may be too off the wall to incorporate directly.This process will give us the bones of a brief for a full business plan that can then be created and taken on to potential funders and managers.I am happy to coordinate the contributions if you want to review and send thoughts back to me...All contributions and observations are accepted and I hope you find the process helpful.
