Dhamma Teachings and Questions & Answers
With An English Speaking Forest Meditation Master
Phra Ajaan Suchart Abhijāto
Abbot, Wat Yannasangvararam (Wat Yan), Thailand

Dear Friends in the Dhamma,

On behalf of the meditation interest group of Wat Palelai, we are very pleased to inform you that we have obtained the kind permission of Phra Ajaan Suchart ( to organise a series of meditation and question & answer sessions with the Venerable.

As you can read from his biography, Phra Ajaan has spent almost 40 years in the monkhood and eight of them were spent under the tutelage of Phra Ajaan Maha Boowa, one of the senior disciples of Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta Maha Thera.

The sessions will be conducted over a Skype link with Phra Ajaan and will be projected onto a screen.  This is the first time we’re using the Internet for a real time Dhamma teaching/practice session so we seek your indulgence if in case there are occasional hick-ups in the communications network.  Our co-ordinators will help to facilitate the session so that there will be orderliness in communications etc.

It is very rare to come across an English-speaking Thai Forest Meditation Master and even more so that he delivers the Dhamma in very clear and simple terms. We encourage you to come listen to the Dhamma from the Phra Ajaan and more importantly, take this opportunity to clarify points of practice with him.
This series of talks will be most beneficial for those who have attempted to practice meditation and who need more guidance from a teacher to the higher stages of the practice. Do help spread the good news amongst your friends/relatives for their benefit.  Details of the sessions are as follows:

7.30pm Group meditation sitting
8.00pm Communications Link-Up and Dhamma instructions from Phra Ajaan
8.30pm Q&A with Phra Ajaan
9.00pm Session Ends

Location: Dining Hall, Chedi Dhammasatit Building, Wat Palelai
Dates: Every Tuesday evening, 4 Nov to 9 Dec, 2014 (six sessions in total)

Robe Offerings (Pha Pa Ceremony) (26 Oct 14, Sun)

posted 2 Oct 2014, 21:51 by Wat Palelai   [ updated 10 Nov 2014, 05:52 by meek freak ]

The Kathina ceremony is held once a year after the conclusion of the Vassa period to offer robes to the Maha Sangha. Traditionally, the Kathina festival starts from the day after Devo Day and continues for the whole month.  For a Kathina celebration, the temple needs to have 5 monks to spend the rain retreat in the monastery.

This year because we have only 4 monks spending the rain retreat in Palelai, we will have Pha Pa ceremony instead.  The Resident monks have chosen Sunday, 26th October 2014 for the ceremony.  The Event Organiser (EO) for this event will be Ms Ow Soon Yang.

Donations for the purchase of 4 sets of robes and other requisites can be made at our administration office, from Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 6pm.  An official receipt will be issued to the donors.

The Resident Monks and the Board of Management cordially invite you, your family and friends to join us in this meritorious occasion.

May the Triple Gems guide  you and your family always.
