The importance of the Uposatha observance was explained by the Buddha in his discourses including the Muluposatha Sutta (Anguttara Nikaya 3.70) and Visakhuposatha Sutta (Anguttara Nikaya 8.43).

Here are this year's dates of Uposatha days as observed in Thai Buddhism (Dhammayutika and Mahānikāya sects). This calendar is also available as a Google Calendar. You can also import it directly into Apple's iCal — or any other app that supports iCalendar format.[2]
