We are just a couple of weeks away from the March 1st WAEF scholarship deadline! As applications are received and reviewed, we have identified some trends amongst the current pool.
We’ve seen several letters of reference submitted without dates or with "outdated" dates. We consider "current" letters to be dated in the current school year. While students will not be disqualified for a letter without a current date, our selection committee members will discount the letter in the selection process.
Students need to submit their college entrance exams or provide a letter explain-ing why they have chosen not to take the test. If a student has not taken the test, the letter should be posted as an attachment to the application (same location as letters of reference, etc.).
WAEF does not review attachments not specifically requested for our applica-tion. A student resume does not take the place of the Activities Form required on the application.
The application is available at www.waef.org/scholarships.
WAEF will be receiving applications until the scholarship deadline and will contact students regarding missing items, while time allows. Students may submit missing items via email until 11:59pm on March 1Fernandez at (360) 753-7623 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
