Grady's Paddle for SickKids, Saturday, July 10, 2010
Paddlers are invited to join Grady's Paddle for SickKids as we canoe or kayak from the town of Burk's Falls, ON, down the flat water of the Magnetawan River and across Lake Ceceebe, to the village of Magnetawan. The route is 32km (there will also be a 21 km route for beginners) and passes through some beautiful scenery in Ontario's Near North. The area is over 3 hours from the K-W area, but it makes for a great weekend getaway.

Bondi Weekend September 24 to 26, 2010
Bondi Village is situated outside Dwight on Lake O‘Bays in Muskoka near Algonquin Park. Bondi has a dock, beach, canoes & large open areas. We will join the Grand Valley Trails Association for our 20th year. A canoe day trip will be organized on Saturday, and hiking trails are available on the Bondi property and several in Algonquin Park. Friday and Saturday nights are available in the Lodge and cottages, which are fully equipped with bedding, coffee maker, microwave oven, fireplace, etc. Cost is $155 per person for the weekend (checkout 5 pm Sunday). Space is limited, don’t miss out!

James grew up in Guelph on the banks of the Speed River and now lives near Kingston and is known as a "canoe guru". James is the executive director of the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough as well as the author of several books including Emperor of the North and Fire in the Bones.

WWCC Canadian Canoe Museum visit, Saturday November 27, 2010 at 7:30 am
WWCC members will have a guided tour of the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, including the behind the scenes storage area which holds most of the museum's 500 canoes. The highlight of the day will be the presentation of our club's donation of $562.73, the total amount raised at the three fund raising events.
Meet at 7:30 am at the  commuter parking lot at Hwy 401 and 6 South, on the road by 7:45 am sharp!
Tour of the museum exhibits at 11:00 am, lunch at 1:00, tour of the museum storage area at 2:30.
Leave for home or stop for dinner about 5:00 pm.
No admission charge, however a donation of $5.00 per person is suggested.
Cost of guide, $25.00, to be shared by all attendees.
Transportation by car pooling, gas cost to be shared.

Come out and join canoe club friends to reminisce, laugh over tales of the year gone by, or help plan some winter outings. Please invite former members who you may know to join us. This is our last chance to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our founding on April 3, 1985. Any past members are welcome and we hope you will share some highlights from the past.
Paddle Draw All members who have paid for their 2011 membership will be eligible for this draw for a beautiful handcrafted cherry paddle. If you've already paid-thank you! You don't have to do anything and your name will be entered automatically. If you plan to join, then please do it at or before this meeting.
Attention shutterbugs!! Don’t forget to bring your printed 4 x 6 paddling-related photos as well as any pictures that you would like to share for our photo contest. Judging will take place during the evening and there will be a first, second and third prize for the best photos. Only stipulation is that they must be paddling related-whether it is a canoe, a heron or a river sunset. Winning photographers will receive a prize and may have their photo published in the newsletter or posted to our club website.
It wouldn’t be the festive time of the year without food!

Please note that while everyone is welcome please ensure that you are prepared for cold weather, the possibility of getting wet, have extra dry clothes in waterproof containers, and understand what you are doing.
