March 2

Join WLU’s Community Music Ensemble in a Musical Celebration of Diversity on Saturday, March 2nd

On Saturday March 2nd at 7:30pm, join Wilfrid Laurier University’s Community Music Ensemble in a celebration of diversity at their end of year concert: Unity in Diversity.

The Community Music Ensemble, directed by Brent Rowan, has been growing for the past two years and is dedicated to using music by the community, for the community, and with the community. This year, they have collaborated with Amanda Brunk, Karen Burke, Brennan Connolly, Brandon Leis, Janet Kubik, and Ted Warren to create music focused on exploring various forms of diversity within and beyond Waterloo.

Featuring songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Gimme Shelter, original student compositions and improvisations; this interactive experience will address social issues with the aim of increasing awareness and conversations around this topic.

The concert will take place in the Maureen Forrester Recital Hall at Wilfrid Laurier University; come on out and take part in this important and relevant conversation with our community.

Join us after the concert for some food, drinks and more music at an open mic event in support of the YUVA Arts Project. The YUVA Arts Project is an international collaborative initiative that aims to address social challenges faced by marginalized youth and explore possible solutions using arts as a medium of dialogue and expression. More information about this project will be available at the concert.

Free Admission
