Nike Air Trainer 1 (High)

-Originally released in 1987, and subsequent releases in 1991, and 1994, the Nike Air Trainer High was the first cross trainer by Nike. The brain child of Tinker Hatfield, this shoe was thought to be the ideal gym shoe as you could not only play court sports like basketball or tennis, but also perform running and weight training.

-Originally envisioned sample with a separated toe piece

-1987 first production run model for consumers (featured visible tongue ribbed stitches, later removed in all subsequently release)

-Late 1988 original colorway model for consumers

The "retro" form didn't come until 2000 with the reintroduction of the "chlorophyll" colorway and "varsity red".
