Playing ImprovSilly and UpODownSillySound Games

So how did you do, buddy?

How many times did you try the Wrist-Trays game??

What is your best score?

Soon you’ll beat me, my friend. Or maybe you beat me already?

Do you want to try again? Sometimes the card falls off my wrists.

But I don’t care and try again, and again.

Let’s jump back into my story!

Remember, we left off when I was playing Wrist-trays game at the Magic Bridge?

Well. After I finished playing Wrist-trays game, I thought to draw

piano keyboard – white and black keys.

“Abracadabra” - the Music Fairy pulled out crayons and paper from her bag,

as if she knew what I was thinking.

“Would you like to draw the piano keys?” the Fairy offered me a box of

new crayons and a white sheet of paper.

"Yes, you read my mind again! Thank you!"

I took crayons and paper and looked at the piano. First, I counted the

number of white keys. That piano had 58 white keys!

Then I counted black keys - I got 36.

At first I was going to draw all the keys, but then, after counting so many keys,

I decided to draw only some.

Here are my pictures before and after I colored the keys.

Just as I finished drawing the piano keyboard, the Music Fairy exclaimed,

looking at my drawing:

“Wow, you drew the piano keyboard quite accurately! I guess, you

already know what colors the piano keys are.”

How about you, my little listener, can you answer that?

Did you say W hite and B lack?

“White and black.” I answered proudly.

“That’s correct. Now let us look at the piano.

Look at all black keys now. Are they all together or in bunches?”

the Fairy asked me another question.

Buddy, are you looking at the keyboard also?

I see 3 black keys together, and then 2 black keys together.

“The black keys come in bunches of 2, no, 2 and 3 keys” was my answer.

“Correct again!” the Fairy exclaimed.

“Let’s play a few games before we go back home.” suggested the Music Fairy

cheerfully.

“First we’ll play ImprovSilly game.”

“This is how we play it. First, you need to act out anything that is funny.

For example, you can be a snoring volcano or a jumpy train. You can either

tell me what you are acting out or not. If you don’t tell me, I’ll have to guess it.

Then play it on the piano and you can even sing and play, if you like.”

- the Music Fairy explained.

“We will take turns. You go first”.

I stood on my hands and feet and started making “choo, choo”

sounds and jumping a little.

Then I ran to the piano and played a few notes while singing “choo, choo”.

The Music Fairy guessed it right – a jumping train!

"My turn!" the Music Fairy started lifting her arms over her head and

then down while bending her whole body and spinning

in a circle.. It looked beautiful! Then she played a few high notes.

I could not guess what it was though.

"A dancing fountain!" The Music Fairy sounded happy.

Buddy-co-captain! What do you like to be? I bet you can’t wait to take your turn now.

Great! Please guess for me what you just played, buddy.

Do you know what the Music Fairy offered me?

A frozen banana and fresh coconut mixed with yogurt, that she made herself.

She put it into a tall glass made of ice! It was so delicious! Have you ever had it?

UpODown SillySound Game

“I had so much fun playing ImprovSilly game with you, Joe” said the Music Fairy smiling.

"Me too" I replied. "You were good!"

“And so were you, my talented musician!" said the fairy tapping me gently on my

shoulder.

"I have another silly game we can play: UpODown SillySound.

We’ll take turns guessing, if the sound goes down or up.

Watch as I play piano and the sound goes lower and lower.”

The Fairy sat down at the piano and played a few piano keys moving her

hands towards the Hanukkah bear and the sign “LOW, DOWN”.

She sang in a lower and lower voice: “la la la la”.

Then she finished by growling like a bear and said:

“Who came into my low under the ground den and woke me up?”

Then the Fairy played piano, moving her hands towards the bird clock and the sign “HI, UP”.

She sang: “Pi, pi, pi, it’s me, look up - Spring is here!” in a high pitch voice.

"Birds fly high in the sky, and they sing in high voices. “

This is how Music Fairy and I played the UpODown SillySound Game

“Ready to play? Close your eyes and guess, if I play the piano keys

DOWN towards the bear,

THE SAME, or

UP, towards the bird clock.

We’ll take turns. This time I’ll go first” – the Music Fairy sat at the piano.

“Turn around – don’t peek, ”she turned me away from the piano, so I could not see what she was playing.

First Music Fairy played piano keys down, lower and lower, all the way to a bear’s voice. I even thought a bear was about to come out from somewhere.

But then the Music Fairy played higher notes, and it sounded like birds singing!

Buddy-pianist, do you want to play the UpODown SillySound Game with me or

your friend? If you play it with me, you’ll just have to play for both of us.

Please don’t look at the piano, when you take my turn.

If you play with a friend, please don't forget to help each other.

If one of you guesses wrong, the other person should show what he/she played.

And don’t forget to take turns!

“Time to go back home. It is late, my little one”, the Music Fairy sounded

a little tired now. “I’ll be back tomorrow, I promise.”

I felt very happy, but tired also.

“May I take home a small cloud?” I asked the Fairy excitingly.

“Of course, my little one”, and the Fairy took out from her pocket

a plastic bag & gave it to me.

I ran back onto the Fantasy Bridge & put a small cloud into the plastic

bag.

“I am ready to go home now” I told Fairy, satisfied and yawning.

“All right then. All aboard” commanded the Fairy as we walked back

into the spaceship.”

"I will be the captain tonight" she offered.

I sat by the window and placed the bag with the little cloud on my lap.

“Tomorrow you’ll play your first song” – I heard the Fairy say as I was

closing my eyes.

“Look what the winter-artist prepared for us!” the Magic Fairy woke

me up excitedly.

“Wow” I said looking outside the window. "Our home looks like a magical

white palace! Look at the clusters of pointy icicles hanging off the roof!"

"I see the little guards dressed in fluffy white snow-cotton uniforms!" -

the Music Fairy pointed at the bushes standing straight by the fence.

" And I love those soft thick white carpets on the front and the back lawns

and the driveway!" she continued.

"I spy ice-cream Sundays", I pointed at the cone-shaped bushes, "and

huge cakes with lots of icing! Look!"

"And the bushes are bent in a low bow with heavy snow hats on!

I love it, how carefully the winter-artist traced thin branches

of fragile little trees and generously left snow on big paws of the pine trees," the Music Fairy was whispering now.

"No, I say this Winter is a magician", I also started whispering. Look what it did to our bushes in our backyard - they look like White Monsters, trying to catch someone with their big white grabby paws extended downward; and look, it changed our clothes line into fat snakes!"

"What a funny wild hairdo the Winter gave to that tall bush, by spreading

its top branches in different directions," giggled my mom.

"This Winter has a lot of taste - look at the white ball gowns it dressed up trees

into!" added the Music Fairy.

At that moment, the spaceship landed in front of our house. We went home,

while the Music Fairy waved “Good-bye” to us. When I looked outside the

window, the Music Fairy and the spaceship were gone - disappeared into the

night.

I went to my room and placed the bag with my cloud by my bed, fell onto my

bed, unable to move, and fell asleep with a big smile on my face.
