11/5/2010 Update for Reflections Chairs:
By now many of you have already started your school's judging process and many have them scheduled in the next week or so. Congratulations on getting to this point and now I want to help you get ready for the next step, Wake Council Drop-off. I will be sending several emails over the next few days including information about drop-off and pick-up, how to prepare for and what to expect at drop-off, and a list of schools that have paid their $50 council dues and $25 Reflections fee.
Email communications will include a lot of needed information as well as answers to many common drop-off questions. I look forward to meeting many of you at drop-off as well as seeing a few familiar faces.
The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. The program offers opportunities for PreK-12th grade students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education. Since the program was established over forty years ago, more than 10 million students have participated in the program. The program's longevity and participation figures attest to its strength.
