Stay three nights at the 65-bunk Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre. Cost $35 per person, per night. 


Planned trips: Lewis Tops, Nina Hut, Klondyke Valley.

Canaan - Moa Park - Mt Evans

Abel Tasman National Park

 Sunday 28 April 2019

(Moderate)

From Harwoods Hole carpark at Canaan, walk over Wainui Saddle to Moa Park Shelter. Follow old track markers back up onto Evans Ridge and south to the farmland. Then walk the Gold Creek Loop family mountain bike track back to the carpark. 


About 6 hours plus breaks.

Then a presentation by Joy Bryant about her recent trip to Africa, including a climb of Mt Kilimanjaro.

Red Hills - Maitalnd Track circuit

Mt Richmond Forest Park

(Moderate)

From the locked gate on Tophouse Road, climb up the four wheel drive track towards Beebys Knob. Turn off onto the Maitland Ridge Track to Red Hills Hut and descend through native bush via the Red Hills Hut to the carpark on SH63.  


About 7 hours.  A minor car shuffle required.

Lodestone & Mt Hodder circuit

Kahurangi National Park

From Flora carpark a steady 400m climb to Lodestone then down and up a ridgeline to Mt Hodder and return. Some steep sections. About 8 hours return.

Marlborough Sounds

 18-19 May 2019

(Easy/moderate)

Leave Saturday morning and walk part of the Link Pathway (section closest to Picton). 


Sunday drive to Rarangi and walk tracks to Whites Bay, Black Jack Track and the Loop Track. 


Some road bashing but not much along the Port 

Underwood Road. 


Stay at Top 10 Holiday Park. Let leader know by Tuesday.
