Mt Fell Hut - Mt Richmond Hut

Mt Richmond Forest Park

 Sat-Sun-Mon 27-29 January 2018

(Moderate/hard)

Saturday go from Te Rou Road and climb to Mt Fell Hut (6-bunks, $5 hut ticket) taking 6-7 hours. Sunday traverse the tops up to Mt Richmond then go down to Richmond Saddle Hut (8-bunks, $5 hut ticket) taking 3-4 hours. Monday descend to Top Valley taking about 4 hours. Car shuttle will be required.

Mike will speak about a recent trip made to the spectacular Ivory Lake at the head of the Waitaha Valley near Ross in Westland. The hut is one of the jewels in the crown of NZ remote high-country destinations.
