Electronic Field Trip Providers

Sometimes called Electronic or Virtual Field Trips, Videoconference Field Trips enable students to visit museums, ocean tidal pools, or to train with astronauts from the comfort of their classroom. These interactive experiences allow students to ask questions, meet new people and to safely travel anywhere in the world. 

Below is a list of program providers' websites. Contact your local network director to schedule any of these programs.

  • Milwaukee Public Museum www.mpm.edu   The Museum is home to more than 125 years of research, collections, exhibits and educational resources, but these are anything but limited to the physical constructs of the building. Through interactive videoconferencing, and well-trained professional education staff, the Museum can also come right to your classroom.Explore natural and cultural history in an exciting videoconference format, and mix live interaction between students and Museum educators with a detailed, content-rich curriculum that can't be found in textbooks. Students can see artifacts and collections unavailable to the public and ask questions during real-time learning sessions.

  • Students & Leaders Network www.studentcareerinfo.com   View experts explaining their careers. The program features live Q&A video discussions and a digital library of topics that provide information and insight on careers and life challenges for students. Additional video sessions of experts explaining their careers are continually added.

  • Videoconference Program Database projects.twice.cc/vcpd/searchprogram.php This database, sponsored by Polycom, Inc., contains programs from content providers such as zoos and museums that offer IP (h.323) videoconferencing. (There is some duplication of provider info on the CILC site.)
