BadgerNet Converged Network (BCN)

In 2006, the legacy BadgerNet data and video network had replaced the separate data and video networks with a single, converged network: the BadgerNet Converged Network (BCN).

For the 32 regional WADEN videoconference networks, conversion of video sites began in September 2005 with the pilot project for two networks. Conversion was completed for all 369 vendor managed video sites by August 2006.

The entire BCN project involved approximately 2,000 data and/or video sites including state agencies, schools, universities/colleges, municipalities, and others. It has been a highly visible and much discussed project. On a national scale, its size and scope rank it near the top.
