Field Day 2019

This Thursday May 9th the monthly club meeting will be a discussion about club activities and Field Day 2019.  Field Day will be June 22nd and 23rd.  If you want to get more involved in club activities or you just want to get on the air plan on being at the Tin Mountain Conservation Center in Albany that weekend.  Any and all assistance is welcome, come for a few hours or both days.  Meals will be provided, awesome meals!

Monthly meeting is at the Conway Public Library at 6pm, early birds at 5:30pm and we are done and out of there by 8pm.

S.O.T.A. With Doug Houston

 Doug Huston W1DMH is one of a few here in the United states that's a vary
serious SOTA activators.
Here on the east coast you might see his call W1DMH
on the list as the first activator. In 2018 Doug set his goals on Europe to do
summits and that's will be his talk on April 11th at our monthly White Mountain
Amateur Radio Club Meeting. SOTA is probably one of the most well rounded ham
radio events one can do! (Activator, Chasers, summit to summit, spotters its all there
no matter your ability.

This years WMARC holiday gathering will be on Thursday December 13th at the Conway Library in the Ham Community Room.  Early birds at 5:30 with the meeting starting at 6pm.  This will be a put luck dinner with a yankee swap.  If you are going to bring some food to share please let Greg know.  For the yankee swap keep it on the affordable side with gag gifts being most welcome.

FT-8, the New Digital Mode
Ed Erny NZ1Q has returned to the valley for the summer and will be giving a presentation on the new digital mode, FT-8. The worldwide Ham community began using this new mode last year and it has overtaken all other digital modes on the bands.  Ed will describe how FT-8 works, how to use it and will also live demo the mode with his SDR rig at the meeting.  Don't miss this presentation about the newest, hottest mode sweeping Amateur Radio.

Looking for a few people to bring macaroni salad, potato salad, and maybe some Italian bread, or rolls.

Field Day 2018

This weekend July 23-24 we will be participating in Field Day starting with a pot luck supper around 5:00 pm.
We are looking for a few more casserole dishes for Saturday's pot luck.

Everyone is welcome to come - operate a radio for a bit, visit, socialize, eat. Come for an hour, come for the evening or come for the day. It's a good time.
