I am currently a Visiting Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Southern Methodist University (SMU), USA. Prior to this appointment I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Natural Sciences, University of California, Merced, USA from 2014-2017.  Before that I was a PhD fellowship at the Department of Mathematics, University of Innsbruck in Austria. I obtained BSc degree in mathematics from Hanoi National University of Education in 2005, and a MSc degree in Computational Mathematics from Vietnam National University (VNU) in 2007. From 2008 to 2010, I worked at Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) as an assistant researcher while holding an invited lecturer positon at the Genetic Bach Khoa international program-one of the partners of the Genetic Computer School, Singapore at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), and at Hanoi University of Industry (HUI). Since fall 2010, I had been selected as a PhD candidate employed by the University of Innsbruck. From March to August 2013, I was a visiting guest at the Numerical Analysis Group, Institute for Applied and Numerical Mathematics, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. I received my PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Innsbruck in 2014.
