About Me

Amreeta Regmi’s leadership skills and public service, across economic groups and cultures provide solutions to the challenges facing the State of Georgia, counties and the emerging municipalities. A fiscal conservative and social progressive, Amreeta has the unifying power to work across non-partisan issues with a professional lens and to focus on results. She is determined to protect District 95.

Amreeta was born in the city of Kathmandu, Nepal. She has a B.A. from Columbia Pacific University, an MBA from Brenau University and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. Her doctoral work was supported by the Ford Foundation.

Over the years, Amreeta has acquired adaptability and professionalism, giving her the skills to work across international boundaries, embracing people and the environment with a positive attitude. She is fluent in Nepali, Hindi and Spanish and has conversational ability in Bahasa Indonesia. She works as a freelance consultant and is affiliated to the World Bank’s Concessional Finance and Global Trust Fund Partnership unit. She has worked with organizations such as C.A.R.E., the United Nations, and the United States Agency for International Development.

Amreeta is a founding member of the Peachtree Corners Business Association and a proud member of the Women of Peachtree Corners. She serves her community as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the city of Peachtree Corners. She is also a founding member of Citizens for Simpsonwood Conservancy. Additionally, the past year, she served as the President of the League of Women Voters of Gwinnett County. Amreeta is a member of Nepalese Americans in South East America, the Ebony Society and a past member of the Organization of the Chinese Americans. Her professional and public service experiences make her a strong candidate to represent you at the Georgia legislature.

A resident of Peachtree Corners since 1993, Amreeta resides with her boxer-mix Hercules, and her two sons, Jason, a civil engineer from Georgia Tech assigned to Ghana with the Peace Corps, and Joel, a senior at Georgia State majoring in economics. She is currently the President of the Peachtree Station Homeowners’ Association.
