January 2009 --- The missing component to good local government is a free, independent, unbiased, and CRITICAL press. Therefore, we created The Political Patriot and published its first edition.
I have been fighting for a better Senator since 2005.
In 2006, I took action. My party named an opposition candidate. I helped that candidate because I thought I could get him elected. However, we were way under resourced and worse, we under-supported by the party. When I looked around the campaign effort we only had a handful of helpers for this candidate.
In 2008 my party put up a "shill" candidate --- she was not supposed to win; Even the party loyal called her "space filler". She was a Board of Elections employee. I challenged her and she dropped out promptly.
I took the inncumbent on with a serious and intensive effort. Then, through "legal" tricks, most of my signatures were invalidated and I was taken off the ballot. I fought to get back on the ballot. I took that fight up through the US Supreme Court twice. Unfortunately, I had been cleverly stopped (under color of law) and the incumbent ran unopposed. This was a tragic loss for the people not to have an election at all.
However, we need a new senator.
So far in 2009 the only candidate to take on the incumbent is a professional lobbyist. She is not a candidate of the people --- this candidate represents corporations BUYING a seat in the NYS Senate; I find this objectionable! I have checked into her claims of what she did for "pensions" and I find those claims to be untrue; as such I find her objectionable!
Update 2010: still we only have the professional lobbyist versus the incumbent. By LAW she should not even run (more on that come the election).
The duty of a true patriot is to take charge if he (or she) has the calling and ability to make America better for his (or her) children. I am no different than any other average citizen; I am not a "politician" and I cringe when I am called one. To me "politician" is sort of a "dirty word" in our society. I am more like a "volunteer" who is going to clean up the mess in Albany out of a sense of duty and necessity. That MESS is mostly a lack of leadership, especially on economic issues.
I am running because I feel my own party has SOLD ME OUT and because the incumbent party has been selling their members out too (with endlessly re-running an un-inspired non-leader)!
I do not pretend to be the perfect candidate for all issues but I promise I will fight for you. Further, I have skills to help our state and local economy. I know a lot of candidates say, fliply, that they will fight for you; then they sort of "die in office" just after election day; so here is my challenge and request of you:
1.) DUMP every incumbent that does not fight for you.
2.) If me or any other newly elected Senator or other elected official does not fight for you
DEMAND THEY QUIT!
3.) Demand your representatives be all-in or all-out --- tell them to "WORK HARD OR QUIT!"
Demand EVERY person you elect go fight for you, PERIOD!
There it is in print above; if you elect me I will fight for you. You have my promise that I will work relentlessly!
