Volunteer Visitors Association
The Volunteer Visitors Association, also known as VVA, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt organization that seeks dedicated volunteers to visit the isolated and home bound in our community.  Currently, our services are provided primarily to nursing homes in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  VVA engages volunteers from within the NEPA area and from all walks of life to provide comforting visits to the elderly, who otherwise would have none or very few at the end of their lives.  We are a truly volunteer based organization.  VVA maintains no salaried positions.  Our continuous goal is to relieve loneliness, restore dignity and renew a connection to the outside world for residents residing in our area nursing home facilities.  Through compassion, respect, and recognition of the needs of the elderly and the support of our community, we strive to enhance the everyday lives of all our citizens.

If you are unable to volunteer, we ask that you consider a donation.  All funds go directly for the needs of the people being visited in an effort to enhance their everyday lives.  Simply click on our donate button and you will be directed to a secure Pay Pal donation site.

THANK YOU TO THE SCRANTON AREA FOUNDATION!

The Volunteer Visitors Association would like to thank the Scranton Area Foundation for providing us with a Grant which will fund our first year's liability insurance costs.  Thanks to the generosity of this exemplary local Foundation we are now able to begin our volunteer recruitment and application process.  We ask all visitors to our site to not only consider supporting the VVA through volunteering their time and/or a donation to our mission, but to also consider the Scranton Area Foundation in your charitable giving.  For more information on the Scranton Area Foundation please visit http://www.safdn.org.
