INFORMATION NEEDED TO MAKE APPOINTMENT

1. Name of taxpayer. 

2. Phone number.

• A separate appointment is required for each tax year, including prior years. Indicate the prior year in “notes” section.

• Email (optional, to receive confirmation/reminders).

INFORMATION NEEDED AT TIME OF APPOINTMENT

1. If married filing jointly, both parties must be present to sign and eFile.

2. Intake booklet. Arrive 15 minutes early to complete booklet, or bring a completed booklet by downloading here, or pick up booklet at a Knox County library (Burlington, Powell, Cedar Bluff, or Bearden) or Senior Center (O'Connor or South Knoxville). The Pellissippi State library (in the Educational Resources Building) also has booklets. Ask for the AARP Tax Intake Booklet.

3. Photo IDs for taxpayer and spouse.

4. Social security cards or 1099-SSA form for everyone including dependents.

5. Income documents (W-2, 1099’s, 1098’s, 1095-A).

6. Last year’s tax return.

7. Checkbook (for bank name, routing number, and account number).

8. NEW documents for TY2025 filing:

• Tips (on W-2, or statement from employer.)

• Overtime (requires written documentation from employer or last pay stub for 2025 if it shows overtime pay.)

• New car interest (vehicle purchased in 2025, bring VIN # and lender interest statement.)

For directions to the site from your address, click on the Directions icon on the map. Take I40 to Pellissippi Parkway north toward Oak Ridge. Exit at Hardin Valley Road and turn to the left. Turn right at the first light on Solway Road. Enter at the main campus sign on the left (Welcome Way). Turn right on Success Way and then left on Career Path Way. Turn into parking lot on the left. Look for the sign for the Educational Resources Center (address 2527 Success Way) at the right end of the building. Enter the building and walk past the stairs.Take the elevator to the left to third floor. Exit the elevator, turn left, and walk to the end of the hall to room ER316.
