- “Parlaying a Telco Platform into a Business Application (using WTAS)", January 2003. This paper was professionally published by IBM with funds donated by Intel and was distributed on marketing CD’s. Used in marketing situations to show IBM’s understanding of the space, and to describe end-to-end application integration using Parlay. Provided several application examples, from design to implementation.
- "How to Plan, Implement and Support Wireless-Enabled Business Applications (using IBM eServer pSeries)", IBM Solutions Sales, December 2003. In response to an industry consultant’s paper, described how IBM pSeries processors and IBM software addressed the industry’s and the consultant’s concerns.
- “VXML and VoIP boost customer satisfaction“,IBM developerWorks, March 2003. Extending “Talk to my VoIP”, showed how to use implicit caller information to improve customization of dynamic IVR responses.
- "Talk to my VoIP", IBM developerWorks, November 2002. Explained how to build a dynamic Interactive Voice Response application using IBM’s WebSphere Voice Server, WebSphere Application Server and Cisco’s VoIP router – complete with multiple language support.
- "A Highly Available DB2 Cluster in an IBM WebSphere Application Server pSeries Environment", IBM Solution Sales, September 2002. Documented an innovative method of providing high-speed fail-over for DB2 using off-the-shelf, available components. Showed that fail-over could be virtually invisible to application clients.
- “Networking with Coworkers: Turn Your Office Phone Network into an Application Platform with VoIP and XML", IBM developerWorks, July 2002. Described how to integrate Cisco VoIP phones with WebSphere Application Server applications.
- "Architecting the IBM Wireless Infrastructure (using WES 2.1), INF110", Conference paper and web lecture, IBM Professional Leadership Technical Exchange Conference, May 2002. Based on the redbook (below), this presentation demonstrated the power and complexity of the WES solution and architecture for people without the time to read the entire redbook.
- "I-mode a la mode", IBM developerWorks, February 2002,Described how to create an application for use on i-mode phones, using generally available off-the-shelf components.
- "The Semi-Walled Garden: Japan’s I-mode Phenomenon", REDP1066, IBM Redpiece, November 2001. Analyzed Japanese i-mode technology and business model; debunking myths about technology being the difference between Japan and US/EMEA adoption.
- "WebSphere Everyplace Server for Architects and Integrators", SG24-6189, IBM Redbook; co-author; wrote product performance & scalability chapters; November 2001. This redbook became the “design bible” for architects working with this complex product suite.
- "A Highly Available & Scalable LDAP Cluster in an IBM® AIX® Environment", IBM Developer Relations, September 2001. Documented an innovative method for high-speed fail-over of IBM’s LDAP product, in a method virtually invisible to clients.
- "Managing Multiple VM Systems",Australasian Share/Guide Conference 19,1988. VM was one of the first operating systems to provide automated and remote management capabilities. This paper described experiences using these tools “in the real world”.
- "When Virtual Machines Require Real Resources: Capacity in a VM Environment", Computer Measurement Group of Australia Annual Conference,1987. This paper debunked myths surrounding the misunderstood area of VM. performance and capacity. It showed the uses and flaws of several widely used techniques, and suggested alternatives.
- "IBM Announcements: VM", Australasian Share/Guide Conference 16,1987.
- "VM/XA SP Release 1", IBM Redbook,1986,VM/XA SP R1 was the first release of VM for the XA architecture. This redbook created the baseline documentation for systems programmers and systems engineers needing to build these complex environments.
- "CMS/XA SP Release 1", IBM Redbook,1986. A companion to the “VM/XA SP R1” redbook, this redbook described the first version of CMS to run in the XA architecture, for use by programmers and product designers.
- "The Hobbit", Phillip Mitchell and Veronika Megler, 1982, published by Melbourne House. Classic computer game written for Z80: (wikipedia article). It is now featured in the Internet Archive's Historic Software Collection, and according to the Australian Center for the Moving Image was Australia's first major game export.
- "Penetrator", Phillip Mitchell and Veronika Megler, 1982, published by Melbourne House. Best-selling computer game written for the Z80.
