I am looking for Ph.D. candidates in the areas of Turbulence Modeling, Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, CFD. Interested candidates, please contact me at cvkreddy@gmail.com

Research Interests: Turbulent flows, Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Underwater vehicles, Ocean and Climate Modeling.

Recently, as part of the collaboration between research groups at UNC and UCSD, we developed a multi-scale ocean turbulence model called SOMAR-LES which combines the adaptive grid refinement feature of SOMAR with turbulence resolving 3D LES model. High resolution large-scale simulations can be performed with SOMAR-LES at a reduced computational cost. This will give us insight into the effect of small-scale turbulence on the large scale flow evolution.

SOMAR-LES will soon be available for download on the Github repository.
