constructed by LDA   to mark the    first centenary of India’s first war of freedom in 1857. It is a place to recall  the memory of  those brave  unknown warriors who laid down their precious lives during the freedom struggle in  1857.  

Shaheed Smarak in  Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India,   is  constructed to mark  the memories of unknown soldiers of India . Years back, they sacrificed their life for our today. This Smarak has been created just to remember them. Here cool air coming across river Gomti salutes the unknown martyrs.Green surroundings of the Smarak and the river Gomti make this place attractive and worth visiting.  Another Smarak is also under construction dedicated to Shaheed Bhagat Singh and others. It is expected to be ready soon

Boating in Gomti River :  You can also enjoy boating at Rs. 40/- only (Full boat). (security jackets, etc while boating may not be available)

How to reach:  It is situated opposite to Residency complex and on the way to Imambara and other monuments of Lucknow. Since it is on main road and nearest to Hazratganj, you can take an Auto or taxi to reach this Smarak.  If you visiti this play, you may like to see Residency in Lucknow, equally important place

Opposite  to it, you can see Gandhi Museum, Residency. Gandhi Museum, Near Residence, Lucknow   The Gandhi Museum gives an insight into the different aspects of Mahatma Gandhi's life. There is a rich library in the same premises having a collection of some 18,000 books. Visit time is 10.00 am to 05.00 pm and contact Number is  Tel. : 0522-2625396 .
