Patrick Gaffney, General Manager and Head Coach
Coach Gaffney has been coaching baseball for well over 20 seasons. He has coached all levels from Little League up through College Showcase teams. The past number of years Coach Gaffney has focused on the high school level and has guided the Virginia Renegades to a number of excellent tournament showings, at Cooperstown NY and Jupiter FL, and successful seasons. Before the Renegades he coached the high school based Northern Fairfax Falcons that played in various college showcase tournaments up and down the east coast. A number of the Falcons players are now playing in College.

Last summer Coach Gaffney led the Virginia Renegades to a successful season with excellent showings at a number of college invitational tournaments. The season ended on a highlight as the Renegades traveled to Jupiter FL to participate in the Prospect Wire World Scout League World Series. The Renegades had a great tournament making the playoffs and reaching the final round of 8 teams where they lost to a talented Chet Lemon's Juice team that went on to win the World Series.

Coach Gaffney is a serious student of the game and has a passion for teaching youth baseball and its applications to real life. In his never ending pursuit of baseball knowledge and teaching skills he regularly travels to attend numerous professional coaching clinics every winter. It is his goal to further develop his players by introducing them to same advanced baseball philosophies seen at the high school, college and professional levels. In addition to his focus on physical fundamentals he is a big proponent of the mental game. He brings many of the successful and proven mental approaches from professionals like Ken Ravizza to help his players overcome the inherent difficult aspects of baseball and life.
