Welcome to the Vinton Police Department’s website.  We hope that you find this site interesting and informative.   The Village of Vinton is located in far West Texas near the New Mexico border along the Rio Grande River, just off Interstate Highway 10 at Exit 2.   Nestled between El Paso and the Texas, New Mexico State line, Vinton was incorporated in 1961 and operates as a Type-A General Law Municipality.

The Village of Vinton is home to about 2000 residents.

Since it’s incorporation, the Village has relied upon the El Paso County Sheriff’s
office for its law enforcement needs, however, in 2009, the Mayor and City Council recognized that due to the rapid growth of the community and surrounding areas, the need for a more localized representation with their law enforcement was needed and moved to establish its own Police Department.

This site is just one example of police interaction with the community.  As you navigate through the site, we urge you to take advantage of the services it
has to offer and as this page/site evolves, additional services and information will be added.  We welcome your comments and suggestions.
