ONKEN FOCAL

                                         ONKEN FOCAL... A LONG STORY

Page mainly dedicated to the legendary speaker, it´s constructors, it´s history etc. etc.

Before we reach the Onken Focal, we should go back to France to
1950. Meanwhile something went on in America, we will come to that later. In France a small
design/speaker factory made a somewhat different speaker. Shape of a football, made of concrete. It is partly thanks to this factory, that the Onken Focal got its look / sound. Since then many many other speaker deigners have cloned these somewhat distinctive French speakers. Some still
do, actually. They named their factory "Multi-Machine" but soon changed it to what it still is today; ELIPSON

The use of concrete in funny shapes...

In 1959 the first "Onken Focal look-a-like" was born. Created by designer Joseph Léon at Elipson. Today a copycat-clone from B & W resembles it very closely. For almost every Elipson model you will find a B & W model.....

The first in 1959                     20 years later...                         Elipson today                  Too obvious, B&W...

Yes, the Elipson speakers have been cloned and cloned again...

...Sink Me !!!  They make damn good speakers those Frenchies...

..som, til trods for TEMMELIG rigelig kredit til en vis Hr. Audiovector, stadig er værd at læse ;)

Tja, dengang kunne man vist godt "bestille" bestemte artikler i Hifi-bladet. Det er vist almindeligt kendt. Mon Hr. Audiovector har bestilt denne ?  Nå, pyt, der er OK
information i den alligevel. Man kan jo selv sortere lidt i hvem der opfandt hvad ;)
