PASTOR SUE’S MOMENTS - Our Advent season of waiting lasts only four weeks.  The Old Testament people of God waited for centuries for the coming of the Messiah, the Redeemer of Israel.  When the time was right, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who are under the law.  Friday.  (Galatians 4:4-5). During Advent, we, too, wait for the fulfillment of Jesus' promise:  surely I am coming soon.  (Revelation 22:20). As God's redeemed people, we offer up our Advent prayer:  Come, Lord Jesus, Come!

BOXES.......and a new kind of Advent Calendar for you and your family.  Have you ever heard of a Reverse Advent Calendar?  Reverse Advent Calendars work by you filling them every day, instead of taking something out, tearing something off, or reading something.  You can pick up a box at Church - or use one of your own.  We are asking you, as a family or as an individual, to place a nonperishable food item in it each day of Advent and then bring your box to Church for the Food Bank.......more often, if it starts to get too heavy.  Not only is this a fun family activity, it is also a great count-down to Christmas, reminding us all of the joy and blessing of giving in this holiday season.

WANTED empty plastic dish detergent (or similar) bottles for a Christmas project.  There is a container in the narthex.
