Vineet Kumar received the Bachelor degree in electronics and communication engineering and the Master degree in remote sensing and GIS. He is currently working towards the Ph.D. degree in SAR remote sensing in the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India.

My current research is focused on the quantitative comparison of full and compact polarimetric SAR data for agricultural applications. The compact polarimetric mode is very recent for earth observing  SAR satellites such as  RISAT-1 and ALOS-2 mission. For same, I have analyzed simulated temporal RADARSAT-2 compact-pol SAR data for various crops.

I have worked on time series evaluation of polarimetric parameters relating
the phenology of crops and subsequently machine learning based approaches
for simultaneous biophysical parameter retrieval of crops. I am also working on ingestion of SAR and Optical data in cloud platform such as Google Earth Engine for rice crop mapping and monitoring.

Research Interests: Remote Sensing and GIS, SAR Polarimetry, Compact Polarimetry,  Classification, Remote Sensing of Vegetation, Time Series Analysis, Biophysical Parameter Modeling, SAR Calibration
