EasyJet fly from London Gatwick to Ajaccio and Bastia throughout the year, or from Manchester to Bastia in season. The outgoing flights are always on Sundays.

Another option is to take a budget airline flight to Paris from your regional UK airport. Once there, easyJet flights operate several days a week from Paris Charles de Gaule to Ajaccio and to Bastia.

Ryanair fly directly from London Stansted to Figari in the south of Corsica.

If you want a greater choice of UK airports, it may be worth looking at Air France. Corsica's airline is CCM Airlines

, in which Air France is a shareholder. This will mean you can get a better deal for the whole journey.

You may wish to fly to Marseille, Nice or Toulon from almost anywhere in Britain with the option of several cheap airlines, including Jet2, Flybe, Ryanair or easyJet, and then continue by a ferry or Air Corsica. Choose Nice, if you can, because it offers the most frequent and fastest ferry crossings to Corsica's western coast.

If you want to take the scenic route fly to Alghero in Sardinia with Ryanair from East Midlands and take the ferry to Corsica, arriving at Bonifaccio's dramatic white cliffs on the island's south coast.
