Animal Control
The City of Elmira Animal Control Department provides a range of services for Chemung County
including investigation, rescue, and shelter of abused animals. They are also an excellent resource for
questions regarding animal control and additional contacts. Phone:  (607) 737-5767.
Animal Control Officers (ACOs) are dispatched through the 
Chemung County Communications Center at (607)735-8600.
