Please avoid using paper clips or staples. Use an envelope to keep items together. Thank you.

The New York Rural Water Association (NYRWA) awarded the 2015 Water System of the Year to the Village of Van Etten
for continued excellence in providing safe drinking water through superior operations and progressive management. 
Van Etten was represented at the NYRWA 36 Annual Technical Conference in Verona, New York, to receive this prestigious award.

Animal Control
The City of Elmira Animal Control Department provides a range of services for Chemung County
including investigation, rescue, and shelter of abused animals. They are also an excellent resource for
questions regarding animal control and additional contacts. Phone:  (607) 737-5767.
Animal Control Officers (ACOs) are dispatched through the 
Chemung County Communications Center at (607)735-8600. 
In case of an emergency call 911.

Refuse Pick up 
The only holidays that affect refuse pick up are Memorial Day and Labor Day, 4th of July, Christmas, and New Years - if they fall on a Monday, refuse will be picked up the following Tuesday.
