REPORT ON ATAL TINKERING LAB WORKSHOP -I

TOPIC: SENSORS, THEIR TYPES AND USES IN MAKING OF NEW PRODUCTS

Audience: All science teachers and IT teachers

This workshop was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Y K Vijay. He himself has started the workshop with small introduction of ATAL tinkering lab, Innovations and basic Sciences with their use in our daily life.

Prof Vijay has also given ideas to the teachers to encourage the students to participate in making of products using sensors, Arduino, electronic devices etc.

After his valuable speech Dr. Manish Sharma has shown one PPT on different types of sensors available in school, their uses and applications in daily life.

After this presentation, Mr. Abhishek Dubey has played his role, which was very important and beneficial to the teachers. He has not only shown videos, PPT, coding/programming but also he has demonstrated the making and working of Bluetooth based devices, line follower and one beautiful Drone, named as PLUTO.

During the workshop all the faculty members have enjoyed a lot and they have learnt so many things. During Workshop School Principal Ms. Mala Agnihotri and other faculty members have asked so many queries which were very comfotabley explained by the Mentors. So the workshop was a very healthy two sided discussion and it encouraged the teachers to motivate students for innovations and making of products.

DATE: 13/8/2020 to 14/08/2020

TOPIC: SENSORS, THEIR USES, CODING AND PRACTICAL APPLICATION ON ARDUINO UNO BOARD

This workshop was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Y K Vijay. He himself has started the workshop with small introduction of ATAL tinkering lab and basic introduction of LEDs and LDR with demonstration and hands on working.

Prof Vijay has also given ideas to the teachers to encourage the students to participate in making of products using sensors, Arduino, electronic devices etc.

On first day, Mr. Abhishek Dubey has played his role, which was very important and beneficial to the teachers. He has shown live circuits and applications of LEDs and LDR on Arduino Board.

On second day Mr. Himanshu has explained the coding/programming with practical applications.

During the workshop all the faculty members have enjoyed a lot and they have learnt so many things. Activities Using Telescope:

During the month of September, 2020 the Saturn and Jupiter were visible in the south-west part of the sky after 7 pm.

Faculty members took active part in using the Telescope and viewing celestial bodies .

TOPIC: ASTRONOMY, TELESCOPE AND STALLERIUM SOFTWARE

This workshop was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Y K Vijay. He himself has started the workshop with small introduction of ATAL tinkering lab and basic understanding of Astronomy and Heavenly bodies. He explained the principle of telescope and operation for observations. He also shared the NASA program of 100 schools, participation of IIS School using 0.4 meter Telescope observation through LCO.

Then Mr. Sandeep Bhattacharya has introduced about the Concept behind the position and rotations of Planets. He has also explained the position of asteroids on the basis of mathematical calculations. During the workshop Mr. Sandeep has demonstrated online software “Stallerium Software App”, on which the teachers have seen the position of planets with respective coordinates. He also shown the place, where we can have the maximum probability of finding the Asteroids.

After that Dr. Manish Sharma has shown some pictures clicked through “Stallerium Software App”, and compare them with the “Blink Comparator” software. Through this comparison he has explained the positions of stars and Asteroids.

At the end of the workshop, Mr. Sandeep Bhattacharya was honoured by Prof, Vijay with a Memento and School Painting.

During the workshop all the faculty members have enjoyed a lot and they have learnt so many things. During Workshop faculty members have asked so many queries which were very comfortably explained by the Mentors. So the workshop was a very healthy two sided discussion and it encouraged the teachers to motivate students to understand the Solar System and Asteroids.

During workshop Prof. Vijay has demonstrated various activities to explain the contents of workshop topic:

1. Experimental demonstration of Production of CO2 in a closed chamber and explain the difference of density of Air.

2. Experimental demonstration of requirement of Oxygen for the burning of a candle.

3. Experimental demonstration of floatation of Soap bubbles in the presence of CO2.

4. Experimental demonstration of Working of self-made Vacuum pump and effect of pressure on vaporization and change in temperature.

5. Experimental demonstration of Discharge at low pressure.

During the workshop all the faculty members have enjoyed a lot and they have learnt so many things. During Workshop faculty members have asked so many queries which were very comfortably explained by the Mentors. So the workshop was a very healthy two sided discussion and it encouraged the teachers to motivate students to understand the Air, Atmosphere and Variation in Pressure.

1. Experimental demonstration of Coding, programming and working of Face Recognizer with the help of resource person of TECK KRITYA.

2. Experimental demonstration the different modes of transfer of heat.

3. Experimental demonstration of Motion of Structure on the basis of Conduction.

4. Experimental demonstration of concept behind the Bernoulli’s theorem.

5. Experimental demonstration of mixing of hot and cold colored water.

During the workshop all the faculty members have enjoyed a lot and they have learnt so many things. During Workshop faculty members have asked so many queries which were very comfortably explained by the Mentors. So the workshop was a very healthy two sided discussion and it encouraged the teachers to motivate students to understand the Thermodynamics, Heat transfer and Face recognizing devices.

During workshop Prof. Vijay has demonstrated various activities to explain the contents of workshop topic:

1. Experimental demonstration of working of Model (Static and Dynamic) of Rocket with the help of resource person of TECK KRITYA.

2. Experimental demonstration of working of RC Model (Static and Dynamic) of Rocket with the help of resource person of TECK KRITYA.

3. Experimental demonstration of launching of Water Bottle Rocket at different angles.

4. Experimental demonstration of concept behind the Dynamic Lift.

5. Experimental demonstration of Motion of DRONE (Both simple and complex).

During the workshop all the faculty members have enjoyed a lot and they have learnt so many things. During Workshop faculty members have asked so many queries which were very comfortably explained by the Mentors. So the workshop was a very healthy two sided discussion and it encouraged the teachers to motivate students to understand the working of Model of Rocket with the principles of flight and the making of simple rocket model.
