Vijay Srinivasan, Ph.D
Mobile Context Researcher
Samsung Research America

Short Bio:

I work as a mobile context researcher in Samsung Research America, where I research and build mobile and wearable software systems focusing on user context sensing and pattern mining, to enable highly personalized mobile devices. Before Samsung, I graduated with a PhD in computer science from the University of Virginia in 2011, advised by professors John Stankovic and Kamin Whitehouse. My PhD research focused on smart homes, in particular on building non-invasive sensor platforms and inference algorithms to recognize residents' activities, identities, and locations.

I have broad interests and expertise in mobile computing, sensor data processing, machine learning, data mining, cyber-physical systems and ubiquitous computing.
