2017 VAPW SCHOLARSHIP

Advancing Educational, Professional, and Personal Growth


The Vietnamese American Professional Women Association of Silicon Valley (VAPW) strives to outreach, educate, prepare and engage Vietnamese American professional women in areas of leadership and development; to provide a network of support and promote the professional growth of its members; to mentor and encourage youths in the community to enter professional careers; and to encourage community responsibility and participation.  In furtherance of its mission, VAPW will be awarding scholarships in the amount of $2,000 to high school seniors who will be attending college during the 2017-2018 academic years.  


Eligibility:

  • Female high school senior of Vietnamese ancestry attending school in Santa Clara County

  • First year entrance into a college or university during the 2017-2018 academic year

  • Selection criteria include: financial need, commitment to community service, leadership abilities, and the potential for leadership

  • Scholarships are conditional:

  • VAPW reserves the right to perform social media search of candidates

  • Funds will not be disbursed until the recipient provides proof of enrollment at a college or university that is approved by the Scholarship Selection Committee

To Apply:

  • Candidates must complete the application in full with all required supporting documents.

  • All finalists must attend an in-person interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee in the evening of April 28, 2017

  • Scholarship recipients must attend the Scholarship Award Dinner.

  3. Personal Statement (12 Times Roman font, double space, 2 pages maximum, 1 inch margins)

  2. what does winning VAPW Scholarship mean to you.

  1. Letters of Recommendations (optional, maximum of 2 letters)


Submission deadline: Completed applications must be received by MARCH 20, 2017
