Mamatha Memorial Endowment

Ms E Mamath a was a bright, cheerful, studious and highly sociable student of the MCA (2010 admissions) batch of the College. One morning, while in the second semester of the course, while she was rushing to the College on her two-wheeler to reach the College in time for writing a Series Test, she met with a fatal accident and her life came to a tragic end. The staff and students of the Department were shell-shocked and it took quite a long to time for Mamatha’s classmates to accept the reality of Mamatha’s absence in the Class. They still cherish fond memories of her cheerful face.

Some of Mamtha’s classmates came forward with a suggestion for instituting an endowment fund for awarding some prizes or scholarships in Mamatha’s memory. Mamatha’s parents, in whose life Mamatha’s loss created an unfathomable sorrow, also suggested some similar activity. After several rounds of discussions, the consensus is to establish an endowment fund for awarding a cash prize every year for the best outgoing MCA student of that year.

The recipient will be the student who scores the highest total marks in the University Examinations and Internal Assessment of all the first five semester semesters put together. In the grades system, the recipient will be the student who secures the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) at the time of the declaration of the results of the University Examination of the sixth semester MCA.

4. Day of for the award of the Prize

The Prize should be awarded in every year during the annual Scholarship and Endowment Prize Distribution function.

5. Intimation of the award of the Prize

Every year, the name of the recipient of the Prize and the date of the award of the Prize should be communicated to the parents of late Mamatha sufficiently in advance by Registered or Speed Post. The parents should also be invited to the function in which the Prize would be distributed. Every year, the name of the recipient of the Prize and the date of the award of the Prize should be communicated to a few representative students of the MCA (2009 admissions) batch by phone or email.
