China Faire Osborn has been practicing yoga since 1998. China has studied many asana styles, recognizing the myriad benefits of all different yoga practices. China has focused primarily on studying Vinyasa flow yoga, having personally experienced the benefits of a yoga that uses the body's heat to purify itself. Additional benefits that attract China to this yoga practice are its focus on breath (the force of life) during the vinyasa sequence.
In 2005, while on a three-month journey through southern Mexico, China began teaching yoga to fellow travelers and friends. Through before she had never thought about becoming a yoga teacher, she discovered a natural talent for teaching and a love of sharing her yogi path with others. In 2007, China completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Ashtanga Americas Yoga Teacher Apprentice program that trains its students in the Mysore tradition of Sri Pattabhi Jois.
China approaches yoga not only as way to take care of herself physically, but mentally and emotionally as well, and she brings her personal discoveries into her teachings. She continuously studies historical and contemporary interpretations of the 8-limb path of yoga and other eastern philosophies, meditations, and Chakra energy. China has also traveled in India and China, deepening her understanding of eastern philosophies.
China has been a
vegetarian since the age of 17, and studies nutrition for vegetarians
and holistic health. All of these experiences allow China to gently guide her students, while they discover their own yogi paths.
In April 2007, China moved to Mexico and currently resides in Mexico City, where she teaches yoga and maintains a sustainable development consulting practice.
