Vesa Korhonen
Currently I work as a Chief Communications Officer at Autism Foundation Finland.
As a researcher I used to work at the University of Eastern Finland in an autism research project between the years 2012-2016.
In 2009 I graduated with a BSc degree in psychology from the University of Glasgow, where my thesis investigated attentional bias, mindfulness, and psychophysiological insomnia.
I also hold a joint Masters degree in clinical linguistics (applied neurocience) from the University of Groningen, the University of Potsdam, and the University of Eastern Finland (2012). My master’s thesis explored autism, working memory, and speech preference.
In February 2017 I graduated with a PhD in psychology, conducting research on the strengths of autistic children with high support needs in an educational setting.
During my current position at the Autism Foundation Finland, I continued my studies at Henley Business School in 2021. In 2023 I graduated with an Executive MBA degree; in my thesis I was developing future scenarios for the social care sector in Finland for the year 2043.
