The Vega Baja is a region of Valencia, Spain and is  located at the southern end of the Alicante province on the border with Murcia.

Our group meets on the second Wednesday each month. At the moment we meet in the afternoon from 2.30pm until 4.30pm at Casa Tom in San Luis. Please see the Monthly Meeting Notice for direction and Map.The venue changes for our observing evenings that takes place mainly in the winter months.

We welcome new members whether they are novices or more experienced amateurs. You do not need a telescope to join our group, just a keen interest in the cosmos.

Only here for a holiday? no problem, we welcome guests even for a single visit, so don't be shy, come along and meet us.

"If I have seen further [than certain other men] it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." Sir Isaac Newton

During our meetings we try to pool our knowledge and members volunteer to talk to us about their particular interest. We also have time to look at what can be observed in the nightsky, discuss any spaceflights currently taking place or indeed updates on those already into their missions and even sometimes have a quiz, just for fun.

There are no membership fees and no committee. We are just a bunch of people who want to hear and talk about anything to do with astronomy. At the moment, all our members come from the English speaking community in the Torrevieja area and neighbouring towns.
