Ayyagari Syamasundaram, a central Sangeetha Nataka Academy award winner and a highly reputed Veena Vidwan of India. He is a senior most Top Grade Veena Artist in the country. He was born in 1948 at Vizianagaram to a famous veena vidwan 'Vainika Ratna' late Sri Ayyagari Someswara Rao and gave his first Stage performance when he was only 8 years Old.  Syamasundaram has superb control over the instrument and has mastered the technique of veena Playing and today he is a legend of veena preserving rich Vizianagaram tradition of music well known for it's manodharma sangeetham.  His music sounds aesthetically rich, melodious, creative and maintains perfect gayaki style.   

Over 55 years and still continuing active musical career,  Syamasundaram has given concerts in all the famous sabhas in every important city and town all over India and USA.  He won the best veena performance awards in the most prestigious Madras Music Academy in the year 1978 and in Sri Krishna Gana Sabha in 1979.  As a senior most top grade Veena Artist, he performed National program of Music and Sangeetha Sammelan Concerts for All India Radio and many live concerts in Doordarshan and other TV channels.  His musical compositions are performed in AIR, Doordarshan and in live shows for AIR.  

While he continues to perform all over India and Abroad,  Syamasundaram dedicates a great deal of time every day to teach Veena, Vocal and theory to many of his students in India and Abroad face to face or even via Skype or other remote accessing media.  Syamsundaram worked earlier for almost 34 years as a Principal and a veena lecturer of Government Music Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.  Syamasundaram is a most accomplished complete musician who is adept in performing, composing and teaching Music.
