Mobility in the Floating City:

A Study of Pedestrian Transportation

Welcome to the 2010 MoVenice project website.  Our team investigated mobility in the city of Venice from October to December 2010. We studied pedestrian traffic at key bridges around the city and input the data we collected into a computer model to simulate movement within Venice.

We also designed a smart-phone application that will aid user navigation of the city with a specific focus on the "waterbus" public transit system.

For a better example of the model and application, check out the Deliverables page. Through our efforts, we hope to contribute towards improving mobility efficiency in the city.

Feel free to look around the site using the navigation menu on the left. For a more in depth explanation of our project, check out the Project Outcomes tab along with its subsections.
