Research group on variable exponent spaces, generalized Orlicz spaces and related PDEs

This research group started its work during the fall of 2002. Our initial aim was to study non-linear potential theory in variable  exponent Sobolev spaces. Since this was uncharted territory with several  interesting applications. We have expanded our research to and generalised Orlicz spaces, partial differential equations with non-standart growth conditions, and to image restoration. We have been able to make quite rapid progress, see our list of publications.

We feel this area of analysis still holds much promise for further research. We invite anyone interested in these issues to contact us for a more thorough discussion on our research.

During August 2017 we organized the Nonstandard growth phenomena -conference in Turku, Finland.
