Get Home
An Animated Fantasy

An animated film based on the music and lyrics of “Get Home” by Sarah Slean.  The two characters, Spoon and Dish are anthropomorphic lovers, quarrelling.

CAST:
A Woman - late 20s
A Silver Spoon - female
A Bone China Dish - male

We HEAR the sound of a silverware clinking against china.  Our CAMERA moves slowly down a hallway into a kitchen breakfast room.  There is a Woman seated at the table.  She sips soup from a bone china Dish.  She eats regrettably.  She finishes the soup, drops the spoon into the dish, and with a sigh, leaves the table.  We CLOSE in on the Dish and Spoon.  The lights dim.  Footsteps retreat.   Spoon stands up, she looks at Dish unhappily.

You can stay the night
You can look me in the eye
You can fake your way to the finish line

Dish frowns and starts to speak but Spoon continues.

But don't you dare profess to love me
When you're lying to another
That's not love, that's just wishing
Wish and love are not the same thing

Dish rises and rolls away, trying not to listen.

Get home, Get home
Take a look at her
You know, You know
That you love her

Dish turns, rolls back towards Spoon…

Mister Masquerade
You're getting at this charade
Go on, fool yourself with talk of poetry

Dish stops, stung by her words.  Spoon bears down upon him.

But don't you dare pretend you're sorry
To me, you're just a tourist
You've gotta stand next to the real ones
'Cause you know you'll never be one

Dish turns his back to Spoon, trying not to listen…

Get home, Get home
Nothing more to say
You know, You know
That you'll never change

Dish rolls away, Spoon follows him.

Oh you'll never change
And I don't play the game
With liars and cowards
Liars and cowards
With liars and cowards like you

Dish rolls to the edge of the table, cornered by angry Spoon.

Get home, Get home
Nothing more to say
You know, You know
That you'll never change

Dish turns angrily and rolls past Spoon.  She follows him…

Oh you'll never change
And I don't play the game
With liars and cowards
Liars and cowards
With liars and cowards like you

Dish wobbles unsteadily, careens into a napkin, spirals down into his horizontal position.

With liars and cowards
Liars and cowards
Liars and cowards like you

Spoon looks down at Dish.  Dish turns away…
