I will be posting links and other materials here to constitute a textbook alternative for the class Geol 3050: Volcanoes and Plate Tectonics. 

The class is intended primarily for upper division non-science majors.  The topic is at present rapidly evolving, and is not only a fascinating one, but also of great importance as we seek to understand both the landscape around us, and some of the geologic hazards we face.  This site will be updated frequently therefore, as new material becomes available.

Primary on-line resources that we will use are cited here, with the URL; reading assignments in these sources will be provided for each topic below, using the assigned initials.  Other sources will be listed or included for each topic as appropriate.
