Valley View Riders (VVR) is a riding group founded in 1969, with a focus on recreational horseback riding opportunities and equine education for its members.

We have around 150 members, coming from Hillsboro, Canby, Oregon City, and all over the Portland metro area. We have a reputation as a "women's riding club," but our membership is not restricted to women.

Our members participate in various riding disciplines, including Western pleasure, hunter/jumper, dressage, gaming, showing, ranch versatility, driving, drill team, competitive trail, and many more. But most of all, we are enthusiastic trail riders that enjoy hitting the trail with new friends.

What We Do:

Monthly Meetings

Valley View Riders meets the first Thursday of each month at the Boones Ferry Community Church, 20500 SW Boones Ferry Rd, Tualatin.

Socializing starts at 6:30 p.m
. and the meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.

Meetings often include a guest speaker or presentation and may include an "ice breaker" activity.

There are several special off-site meetings during the year, so be sure to check our calendar to verify the meeting place and time for the month.
Local Trail Rides
We have member-led trail rides at various sites throughout the Willamette Valley and Southern Washington.

We also keep members informed about trail rides, poker riders, and other equine-related events in our area.
Summer Camping Trips
We typically have two camping trips each summer.

Favorite destinations include Mt. Hood, Central Oregon, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens.
Fall Beach Trip
We usually have a beach trip in the fall.

It may be a camping trip or renting a beach house and finding local stabling for our equine friends.
Either way, it's a lot of fun!
Sunday Fundays
VVR Sunday Fundays give us something interesting to do in the cold winter months. We usually have three events - February, March, and April.

Some Fundays are full of Pony Club games; some Fundays are working on drill patterns.

No matter what we do, it's low key, fun, and a great experience for the horses.
Annual Awards Banquet

The annual Awards Banquet is held in the early spring and celebrates the events of the preceding year.

The banquet includes a great dinner and an interesting guest speaker.
Other Activities
Throughout the year, we participate in volunteer trail maintenance groups and organized horse clinics.

Our members also benefit from guest speakers at our monthly meetings and at our annual awards banquet.
