Who We Are
Valley View Riders, VVR, is a riding group founded in 1969, with a focus on recreational horseback riding opportunities and equine education for its members.
We have around 150 members from all other the Portland metro area including Hillsboro, Canby, Oregon City, Tigard, Tualatin, Beaverton, and Molalla. Although we have a reputation as a "women's riding club," anyone over the age of 18 can join.
Our members participate in various riding disciplines, including Western pleasure, hunter/jumper, dressage, gaming, ranch versatility, driving, drill team, competitive trail, working equitation, and more. But most of all, we are enthusiastic trail riders that enjoy hitting the trail with new friends.

What We Do
Valley View Riders meets the first Thursday of each month.
Socializing starts at 6:30 pm and the meeting beings at 7:00 pm.
Meetings frequently include a guest speaker or presentation and may include an "ice breaker" activity.
There are also several special off-site meetings during the year. Please check the calendar to verify the time and place for the month's meeting.
If the weather is bad and PCC does not hold classes, our meeting will also be cancelled.
Local Trail Rides
We have member-led trail rides at various sites throughout the Willamette Valley and Southern Washington.
We also keep members informed about trail rides, prize rides, and other equine-related events in our area.
During the first part of the year, usually February, March, and April, we have evening activity rides.
Sunday Funday activities can include Pony Club games, drill team/parade patterns, and obstacles.
Regardless of the activity, it is a low-key and fun way to ride with other members and great experience for the horses.
Summer Camping Trips
We typically have two camping trips each summer.
Favorite destinations include Mt. Hood, Central Oregon, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens areas.
Fall Beach Trip
We usually do a fall camping trip at the Oregon Coast at Nehalem Bay State Park.
Members come for a day or a week and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Annual Awards Banquet
Each spring, we hold an Annual Awards Banquet.
The banquet is a chance to meet and mingle with other members, celebrate the events of the preceding year, recognize elected officers and volunteer coordinators, as well as honor members reaching membership milestone awards (5 years, 10 years, 15 years, etc.).
In addition to a great meal, we have an interesting guest speaker. Previous topics have included side-saddle riding, horseback trip across Mongolia, riding the Pacific Crest Trail, and more.
