The Respect in Sport Parent Program is a one-hour online module for parents/guardians meant to reinforce their role in their child’s activities, encourage positive sport behaviors, and provide insight into the various roles of other individuals such as coaches and officials. The program empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child's overall enjoyment of soccer.

As a component of the Uxbridge Soccer Club’s 2016 house league Registration, one parent or guardian of each player is required to complete the Respect in Sport online education program. The online course costs  $12 +HST and is payable by the parent. The course certification is transferable from/to other sports associations involved with the Respect in Sport program. If a parent has completed the online course and received a certification number for hockey, the same parent may ‘port’ their certification to the soccer parent program database, at no cost.

Please complete the course before May so that our admin team has time to confirm certifications and complete rosters in a timely manner!

A Durham Pilot Program
The Uxbridge Soccer Club is a partner in this pilot program with the Durham Region Soccer Association who has taken a leadership role in protecting the best interests of kids and all those involved in soccer by introducing the Respect in Sport Parent Program to our organization. Durham is the first association in Ontario to take this important step and is working with the Ontario Soccer Association to roll out the program in 2016. The program will be instituted province-wide in 2017. The OSA has partnered with the Respect Group to provide online education for coaches, referees and parents to help create a safe, healthy, and positive environment for children and youth involved in soccer.
