Volunteer

Volunteers are an essential part of the operation of the Uxbridge Soccer Club. The Club relies on enthusiastic parent and youth volunteers to manage teams, lead teams, co-coach, assist at the fields, and convene the house league divisions. Volunteers are also a welcome and valued asset in other areas, including our Event days such as Opening Day/ Photo Day and the Closing Festivals. We'll give you all the training and support you need!

With so many young children wanting to play soccer, having adequate adult supervision and great mentoring are the cornerstones of our programs.
Parent Helpers and Team Leaders/Co-Coaches provide supervision, guidance and encouragement for divisions U4 through U12. With just a small commitment, starting at just 20-30 minutes per week, depending on the age group, you can help a group of young players enjoy the game. Practices are directed by our Practice Facilitator staff, so parent volunteers are able to simply help out by encouraging players through the drills and activities set our by our practice coaches each week. Other roles are also available to help keep teams on track, motivated and receiving important information.

View our various VOLUNTEER ROLES here.

Help us ensure that every team has a dedicated group of cheerleading parents to encourage them throughout the season. Receipt of Volunteer application forms is appreciated by April 1st.

Co-Coaches and Team Managers are also required for our teenage NDSI Divisions, for players ages 13 - 18 yrs. Volunteers are required as Team Officials - to organize and assist with all practices and coach for house league games. Volunteer commitment is 2.5 hours per week (1 practice, 1 game, team communications).

Youth Volunteer positions are also available for youth 15-18 yrs.old who wish to either co-coach with an adult volunteer at our younger age group or who want to help out during Club events. High School Community Service hours can be applied.

Convenors
Each of the Club's age divisions runs smoothly thanks to our Division Convenors. Each season, one Convenor is sought per age division to help with the initial organization of the Division and to facilitate communications to players and their families. This role is most active in May and early June, with limited duties for the remainder of the season. A basic application form is necessary. Please contact the Club Administrator to volunteer.

Volunteer Orientation Meeting
All Volunteers assuming Co-Coach/Manager/Convenor roles (U4-U18) are required to attend our annual pre-season Coach Meeting. This meeting is scheduled in late April/early May and provides all volunteers with an Orientation and Training session, a review of all required forms and documents, and an opportunity to meet with technical staff and Club officials. These volunteer orientation sessions, provide age-specific information important to all volunteers. Please plan to attend

Volunteer Application & Screening Requirements:
All volunteer roles are required to complete a Volunteer Application Form, every season, as part of our mandatory screening process. Children are a vulnerable sector and Club policy dictates appropriate screening of individuals to ensure the physical, emotional and mental health safety of our young players.  If you are new to the Club, volunteering for a team leadership role, you are required to also submit the New Coach Questionnaire. Copies of all these forms can be found on our Volunteer Forms page.

High School Community Hours - Youth Volunteers:

The Soccer Club supports the Community Hours program and offers students a variety of volunteer tasks, including field work and event day assistance. Youth may also work as Youth Volunteers for the entire season, as co-coaches alongside an adult volunteer coach. Youth forms can be found on our Volunteer Forms page.

Students who volunteer for the Club, don't forget to check out the Keith Freemantle Memorial Scholarship!
