We are pleased to share that the North Durham United Football Club has been selected by Canadian Tire Jumpstart to receive a grant from their Sport Relief Fund. The fund helps community sport organizations like ours continue to provide access to sport and play for Canadian kids.

Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund is helping sport and recreation organizations continue to operate in 2020 and beyond. The North Durham United Football Club (NDUFC) is grateful to be one of 668 sport and recreation organizations across Canada to receive grant funding from Jumpstart.

Along with Jumpstart, we understand the role sport and our Club plays in the health and well-being of kids and their families in our communities and we are doing everything we can to ensure that soccer continues to be accessible to all through innovative health & wellness programs into 2021 and beyond.

With Jumpstart’s support, NDUFC will be able to reset the soccer club’s organizational model, adjust to issues created by the pandemic, and adapt our programming to a post COVID-19 environment. Our goal is to provide our communities with new, health & fitness opportunities through soccer along with all the physical, mental, and social benefits the sport provides. The collaboration with Jumpstart will enable the soccer club to continue to operate safely and focus on the creation of new ‘Stay Active’ programs so children of all abilities may have access to fitness and wellness as we recover from these challenging times.

As we emerge from the pandemic, return to play will be more important than ever.

There is much work to be done, but we’re doing our part.

Yours in soccer,

The Board of Directors & Staff of North Durham United FC

  Amalgamation Announcement

North Durham United Football Club, Scugog Soccer Association and Uxbridge Soccer Club are pleased to announce that the clubs have voted to amalgamate into one entity. The finalization of this process is under way. The new entity will operate under the name North Durham United Football Club or NDUFC.

Over the years, the teams of volunteers within the three clubs have worked together in many areas to provide our communities with wonderful experiences in the sport of soccer. Under this cooperative effort it became apparent that by amalgamating we could reduce duplicated efforts, streamline our processes and be more financially efficient. At the same time providing variety, quality, and potentially expanded programs; recreational and competitive, in our respective communities. We are working to ensure that each community receives the same services they have known and enjoyed, while increasing efficiencies in program management.

We are very excited for the 2020 season and the future of soccer in North Durham. We would like to thank the many volunteers and very generous sponsors who have, and continue to make our soccer program the success that it is, as we could not do any of it without the tremendous support of our communities.

Board of Directors

‘New’ North Durham United Football Club

__________

To Our Members:

The 2020 summer soccer season will operate as usual in Uxbridge, with few impacts to Uxbridge Soccer Club Member families due to the 3 Club amalgamation.

Summer Registration for the Recreational leagues (U4-U10) and the North Durham Soccer Interlock (NDSI) league (U12-U21) will continue to be offered as they were in the past, in Uxbridge at the Uxbridge soccer fields, for the local community.

We will change our Club name to the North Durham United Football Club and begin to refer to our club as that, and use the abbreviation "NDUFC", by the spring. As a result, you will begin to receive communications labelled from the North Durham United Football Club, rather than the Uxbridge Soccer Club, via email and the Sports Engine app and registration system. The crest logo above was used throughout 2019 and will continue to appear on all Club communications and uniforms. A new web site and amalgamated social media channels are on their way as well.

The club amalgamation means that the local communities in the north of Durham Region now have access to a soccer club that offers recreational, development, and competitive soccer programs as options to youth soccer players, all under one unified Club. Better soccer resources, training, and sport development opportunities can now be offered across a variety of levels of play for soccer players of all abilities.

For the most part, the 3 Club amalgamation will bring about change to internal process and procedures only in 2020.

About the Online Registration System
To serve our Members better, the Uxbridge Soccer Club participated in a registration pilot in 2018 with the Durham District association and Ontario Soccer. This system will eventually be province-wide for Ontario Soccer and is being introduced in stages. Eventually, the Uxbridge Soccer Club will integrate this system into a new web site as well. The system has many built-in digital features such as a mobile APP which provides you with better communications and direct access to coaches, schedules, changes and all the information you need for a carefree soccer season.
Members who registered in previous seasons will have already created their Member Profile account;  new families will be asked to create a new account. It's simple! - just provide an email, user name, password, and your date of birth (for account security) before you begin the registration process, then you're all set to register players as new for the coming season. You will be asked to accept your new account profile in a follow up email, so be sure to complete this final step. You have the option of communicating via texts or email, whichever you choose, over the Sports Engine platform!

NEWS:

Mandatory Respect in Sport for Parents course
 Do you have yours?
As part of Registration, one parent of every player must obtain the Respect in Sport for Parents certification. This online course mandated by Ontario Soccer is completed once and becomes registered with the Soccer Clubby the Respect Group. Proof of your Certificate # is required before a player can be placed on a team roster. For more information, review our Respect in Sport page.

Mandatory Respect in Sport for Coaches & Referees course
As of 2019 all volunteers, coaches and match officials for divisions U8 & Up are required by Ontario Soccer to have completed the Respect in Sport Activity Leader/Coach Program. This course educates youth leaders, coaches, officials and participants (14-years and up) to recognize, understand and respond to issues of bullying, abuse, harassment and discrimination (BAHD). For more information, review our Respect in Sport page.

Severe weather warnings
We use Twitter to provide up to the minute notifications of game & weather cancellations. When there is severe weather, the Club is watching reports and the skies. The Club will post a notice on Twitter @UxSoccer  in the event that soccer is cancelled due to  severe weather at the fields. You are not required to have a Twitter Account to view these notifications - simply go to the Club's Twitter account @UxSoccer. We'll also do our best to post cancellations on this Home page and email our parent members, as time permits.

Please remember that we play in the rain, but not in lightning, and because storms can pass quickly, we are rarely able to make a cancellation call more than 30 minutes prior to session or game start times. Players should proceed to the fields for play on rain days.

Soccer continues during Heat Alerts unless parks are closed by the Municipality.

The Uxbridge Soccer Club gratefully acknowledges the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Township of Uxbridge in our continuing efforts to provide accessible, quality recreational soccer programs to our community.
